Paterson Man, 29, Eighth Shot Dead In Two Months

PATERSON, N.J. -- No sooner had authorities in Paterson solved one shooting death than they had another overnight Saturday when a 29-year-old city man gunned down in a parked car later succumbed to his injuries.

Cosmeik C. Gee was struck several times in the area of 12th Avenue and East 23rd Street around 11:45 p.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief William Fraher said.

He later died at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, they said.

That makes eight shooting deaths in Paterson in less than two months among more than 30 shootings overall in the Silk City during that time.
