Irvington Teen Armed With Gun Stabbed To Death During Fight: Prosecutor

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of an 18-year-old in Irvington Wednesday night.

Shaquan N. Kearson arrived at the 700 block of Springfield Avenue to confront a resident over a dispute, according to a preliminary investigation by authorities. Kearson fired a gun at the other person, who then stabbed Kearson. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 10 p.m.

No one has yet been charged, the prosecutor's office said Thursday afternoon.
