8 New Lyndhurst Police Officers Sworn

Four new Lyndhurst police officers are headed to the academy while four more have entered the department’s orientation training after being sworn in.

Mayor Robert Giangeruso, accompanied by Police Chief Richard Jarvis, swore in the new hires, who bring the total number of officers in the department to 53.

Assigned to the patrol division after completing orientation:

Angel Batista, an Essex County sheriff’s officer since 2017, is a decorated U.S Army combat veteran who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan during the Global War on Terror and Operation Enduring Freedom;

Thomas R. Seickendick was an NYPD officer for nearly four years after serving four years in the Lyndhurst Police Auxiliary. He was also a traffic maintenance officer in Lyndhurst in 2014. Seickendick was graduated from Montclair State University in 2012 with a degree in Justice Studies;

Anthony D. Giaquinto was a Class Two Special Law Enforcement Officer with the Hackensack Police Department since 2018, when he was graduated from Montclair State University with a degree in Justice Studies;

Michael S. Clifford was a Rutgers University police officer since 2017 after being graduated from Montclair State University in 2016 with a degree in Justice Studies.

Beginning 22 weeks of police academy training at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute:

Michael J. Walker is a borough fire captain and seven-year Lyndhurst Volunteer Fire Department veteran who has been the police department’s traffic maintenance officer since 2015. He is a 2017 graduate of Thomas Edison State University, where he received a degree in Social Science;

Michael D. D’Alessandro had been a corrections officer with New Jersey Department of Corrections the past 12 years. He has an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Bergen Community College;

Nicollette A. Villani had been a Class One Special Police Officer with the Paramus Police Department since 2016. She’s a 2015 graduate of Notre Dame College of Indiana with a degree in Political Science;

Glenn J. Flora has served as an officer with the Lyndhurst Police Auxiliary since 2017. He was graduated from William Paterson University in 2015 with a degree in Sociology.
