Woman, 34, Killed, Three Others Hurt In Atlantic County Crash

A 34-year-old woman from Cumberland County was killed in a three-car crash in Atlantic County, authorities said.

Kerry Forest of Vineland died in the head-on crash.

Two other drivers and a five-year-old child were hospitalized.

On Thursday, March 23, at approximately 5:45 p.m., the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to the crash.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Hyundai Tucson driven by Forest was traveling eastbound on Millville Avenue approaching an S curve just West of Pittsburgh Avenue, police said.

Forest's vehicle struck the eastbound guardrail, causing it to cross the center line and strike a 2014 Honda CRV driven by Kelly Connor, 50, of Vineland, police said.

The collision continued into a 2021 Jeep Gladiator driven by Todd Ruymen, 44, of Vineland. 

Kelly Connor and Todd Ruymen were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

A five-year-old passenger was flown to Cooper Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was in stable condition.

Traffic was diverted for approximately four hours.

Assisting at the crash scene were Mays Landing Fire Department, Laureldale Fire Department, Richland Fire Department, Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, Dorothy Rescue Squad, Buena Vista Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare EMS, AtlantiCare Paramedics, South Star, New Jersey State Police, and the State of New Jersey Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The crash is under investigation by the Township of Hamilton Police Department.
