Police on Tuesday were requested to respond to the high school concerning comments and drawings made by the 16-year-old, who was removed from school, police said in a press release.

"Our investigation determined the statements and drawings to be threatening in nature, yet presented no immediate danger," the press release said.

North Arlington Superintendent Stephen Yurchak called parents and students around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, saying schools were safe and to direct concerns to building principals.
