Councilman Richard Hughes stood in for Mayor Joseph Bianchi and bestowed the club with honors at an event held at the North Arlington Public Library.
The event was combined with Women’s History Month, and Councilman Mario Karcic gave the club a Women’s History Month proclamation.
“The Women’s Club has strong female leaders who continuously help and improve our community and we’re forever grateful,” Karcic said in a statement.
The library was chosen for the event since the the North Arlington Woman’s Club was instrumental to its beginnings.
“North Arlington is a community of volunteers and the Woman’s Club is a vital part of the borough and their work is greatly appreciated,” Hughes said.
Some of these projects include serving lunch at Paterson’s Eva’s Kitchen, providing Christmas toys for families in North Arlington, and contributing to the food drive at the Queen of Peace food pantry.
“It’s a wonderful feeling to see all the hard work and projects we’ve accomplished over the years,” Club President Christine Robertson said.
