"This professional concert will appeal to innovative curiosity, a love of music, and an interest in the current and traditional folk scene," a news release notes. The concert's musicians will include the Dammers-Desmond Trio, David Rimelis, and John and Martin Dull. The music feature traditional and current folk songs, with fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass and vocal harmonies.
The music will be interwoven with a PowerPoint presentation by Pamela Orlowicz. Topics addressed will include the "power of song" and how song lyrics can affect the physical brain state, among others.
DVP Studios will handle sound and lights.
Tickets are $10. There is limited seating, so buying tickets early is advised. You can buy tickets online here, until April 8, or at Steve's Coin and Stamp, 2 Franklin Place, in Rutherford. Tickets bought online after Friday, April 1, will be held at will-call.
The concert will begin at 2:45 p.m., at the Rutherford Congregational Church's concert hall, 251 Union Ave., at the corner of Prospect and Union.
