Elijah Cook, 20, was charged with robbery Friday and was being held at the Hudson County Jail.
Police say Cook was one of a number of people who attacked a 25-year-old man on a city street April 15 and robbed him of personal items. Cook removed the victim's cell phone from his pocket, police said.
The victim suffered facial injuries and was treated at Bayonne Medical Center.
