Plainfield Man, 64, Accused Of Stabbing 65-Year-Old Neighbor To Death

A man living in a Plainfield rooming house is in custody after authorities said he stabbed a neighbor to death over the weekend.

Guillermo Bello, 64, was found in Elizabeth early Monday after he was identified as a suspect, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. He was being held at the Union County jail.

Police were called to the 600 block of Central Avenue around 5:45 a.m. Sunday. There they found 65-year-old Louis Hillyard on the front porch of the rooming house. He had been stabbed multiple times in the upper body, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
