Passaic Man Charged In 2007 North Bergen Sexual Assault

A Passaic man was arrested Tuesday for a sexual assault in North Bergen that occurred more than 12 years ago, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

North Bergen police were called to a home on 74th Street around 6:40 a.m. April 28, 2007. A 44-year-old woman who lived there told officers a man entered her home through a window and sexually assaulted her. She was treated at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. 

Luis Santiago-Rodriguez, 42, was arrested on Grove Street and charged with aggravated sexual assault during the commission of a burglary, aggravated criminal sexual contact during the commission of a burglary, burglary and terroristic threats. 

Santiago-Rodriguez was being held at the Hudson County jail in Kearny pending a court appearance Monday. 

A source said Santiago-Rodriguez was just recently identified as a suspect.
