Firefighters in Jersey City contained a residential blaze in less than an hour Tuesday but the home sustained heavy water damage, a city spokeswoman said.

The JCFD responded to 113 Ocean Ave., a three-story building, around 12:30 p.m. The fire was confined to a front bedroom on the third floor.

No one was injured, but the home sustained heavy water damage from the activated fire sprinklers. The Red Cross was helping a total of 9 adults and 12 children relocate.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
