Authorities are seeking the public's help in the investigation of a Jersey City shooting that killed a 22-year-old woman.
Francis Villa was found lifeless with a gunshot wound in a Forrest Street apartment between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Ocean Avenue around 6 p.m. Monday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.
Villa was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jersey City Medical Center doctor minutes later, Suarez said.
The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound to the upper body and the manner of death remains pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, according to Suarez.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating.
No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon.
