Jersey City Substitute Teacher Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old

A substitute teacher for the Jersey City Board of Education has been charged with sexually assaulting a teen boy at her home, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

Elyse Castillo, 45, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and other offenses.

Castillo, who last worked for the district in November, allegedly assaulted the 14-year-old victim on multiple occasions between June 2018 and August.

She was being held at the Hudson County jail and is scheduled to make an initial court appearance Thursday.
