$10K Reward Offered In Arrest Of Linden, Newark Carjacking Suspects

A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of Linden carjacking suspects that may also be connected with Newark incidents.

The suspects got out of a black Fort Mustang and approached ordered the victim to get out of his car while brandishing a handgun on the 800 block of Essex Avenue around 9 a.m. in Linden, Aug. 5, Lt. Christopher Guenther said.

The men fled in both vehicles toward N. Park Avenue, Guenther said.

The Essex County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a similar incident that occurred in Newark on Aug. 1, possibly involving the same suspects, based on information provided by the victims the NJSP Forensic Imaging Unit compiled sketches of the suspects.

Suspect 1 was described as a dark-skinned black man around 5 feet and 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds with a white shirt.

Suspect 2 is described as a dark-skinned black man around the same height and weight as Suspect 1, with long braids pulled into a ponytail, also with a white t-shirt.

Suspect 3 is described as a black male, however, no further description could be provided.
