It had better be OK -- because the big melt isn't relenting the rest of the month.
Temperatures pushed into the mid 90s on Monday -- with a high of 96 expected -- forcing many who needed to be outdoors to adapt (see photos above).
Severe thunderstorms were expected to begin mid-afternoon. and continue until about 8 p.m. in New Jersey, meteorologists said.
The storms, which stretched from the Upper Hudson Valley southwest to South Central Pennslvania, "could produce winds of 60 mph or more, hail, and heavy rains," meteorologist Joe Cioffi said.
Monday night's low was expected to be a tick below 70 degrees before pushing back toward 90 on Tuesday -- only with no humidity.
The itself heat isn't breaking.
Thursday is expected to begin a new string of at least two weeks of days over or just at 90 degrees.
One of the hottest summers in recent memory came in 2010, when Newark International Airport registered 54 days of temperatures in the 90s.
North Jersey had 35 days of 90 degrees or more last year, after a mere 15 in 2014 and 25 the year before.
As of Monday, New Jersey had 13 90-degree days so far in 2016.
