Trespasser Fatally Struck By Train In Wayne: NJ Transit

A woman was fatally struck by a train in Wayne on Saturday, April 12, authorities said.

At 2:57 p.m., a Montclair Boonton Line train, struck and fatally injured the woman, who was trespassing, east of the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center, NJ Transit said. 

The train, which departed Hoboken at 1:58 p.m., was en route to Dover at 3:30 p.m., NJTransit said. There were no injuries to the 27 customers and crew on board, NJ Transit said.

 Montclair-Boonton Line rail service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Montclair State University to Denville, NJ Transit said. New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation.
