Heavy-Duty Wreckers Remove Tipped Garbage Truck From Jammed Route 17
A group of heavy-duty wreckers was needed to right and remove a Hasbrouck Heights garbage truck that landed on its side on Route 17, jamming traffic. A load shift apparently was to blame. The borough driver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure following the crash on the highway's northbound side at Malcolm Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, responders said. Unknown Substance Leaks Bring HazMat Response To Boonton Chemical Plant
A hazardous materials team responded to a Boonton chemical plant Wednesday morning after three drums were found to be leaking an unknown substance during a scheduled fire inspection, authorities said. Substance samples from a pair of unlabeled 55-gallon drums and a third marked as flammable, at Adron Inc. on Fanny Road, indicated no direct hazard to the public, Parsippany Police Sgt. HILLSDALE, N.J. – Patience, ingenuity, preparation and humility are all part of what makes fishing a great way for people to connect – which is why Hillsdale police are holding their 2nd annual “Cops and Bobbers” fishing derby this month.
