The tourist helicopter went down on Thursday, April 10, claiming the lives of the Escobar family and the 36-year-old pilot, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, according to multiple news outlets. ABC News identified the family as those killed.

The family's smiling photos — now circulating online — were taken just moments before what would become the final minutes of their lives.

The photos were shared by New York Helicopter Tours LLC, according to the NY Post. As of press time, the images were not on the company's social media pages.

Escobar was the CEO of Siemens, a global technology company headquartered in Europe. According to LinkedIn, Escobar was the CEO of Rail Infrastructure at Siemens Mobility.
