"Rock the Box" challenges students to build a creative and clever TerraCycle collection bin using upcycled materials.
WRPEF President Chei Ottevaere’s children — Remy, 10 and Grace, 7 — took to the challenge.
Making a recycling bin out of recyclable material, Remy and Grace created a shark out of aluminum foil, old juice boxes, poster board and other materials with the phrase: “Take a a bite out of recycling.”
“It’s amazing to take something we strongly believe in and see them get this far,” Ottevaere said. “I am very proud that they are taking what they learned and putting it into action.”
Voting closes on Nov. 6, with the Top 10 winners will be selected on Nov. 10.
