The contest was held on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Memorial Elementary School in South Hackensack.

The Faust students competed against nine other teams.

They were tasked with building a 3-foot-long bridge that would hold at least 10 pounds.

The team took about three months to design the structure, which ended up being able to support 50 pounds.

The students “had a great time,” said East Rutherford educators.

They are now preparing for their next competition, set for March in Carlstadt.
