Authorities are investigating a series of ongoing robo calls that have recently been placed to the Hackensack Fire Department, fire officials said.
For the last three days, the calls have been coming in on the basic 10-digit line but are not affecting the department's responses or operations, Hackensack Fire Captain Justin Derevyanik said.
"The 911 system is fully operational and all residents are reminded 911 is the primary number to call for fire, police, and medical emergencies," he said.
The Hackensack Police Department and Bergen County Prosecutor's Office are conducting a joint investigation. Anyone with information can contact those agencies, Derevyanik said.
