HACKENSACK, N.J. — The first hospital in Bergen County — Hackensack University Medical Center — was rated number 11 in the country as being the most nurse-friendly, reports the website toprntobsn.com.
Since it was initially established in 1888, the hospital has grown into a teaching and research medical center, rewarded with Magnet accreditation by the ANCC, according to toprntobsn.com.
It also was the first hospital in the nation recognized for excellence in nursing by the ANCC, reports toprntobsn.com.
Other area hospitals on the list include St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Paterson, number 22; and Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, Conn., number 27. Number one was Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Indiana, reports toprntobsn.com.
