NJ Driver In Hit-Run Crash That Injured Teen Bicyclist Tried Getting Car Repaired, Police Say

Authorities in South Jersey say they have arrested the hit-and-run driver who struck in a 13-year-old bicyclist earlier this month.

Rodney Gaidosh, 44, of Gloucester Township, was driving westbound on Ganttown Road when he hit the westbound bicyclist near Washington Township High School around 10 p.m. July 13, Washington Township police said.

The teen was hospitalized with minor injuries -- the driver who struck him nowhere to be found.

Gaidosh tried to getting his vehicle repaired at an auto body shop after the crash, but was eventually arrested and charged with assault by auto, tampering with evidence and more, police said.

He was jailed pending a hearing.

Traffic Safety Officer Steve Pinelli investigated the crash.
