GARFIELD, N.J. – A state corrections officer from Garfield was charged with child abuse after the youngster showed up for school with arm and leg bruises, authorities said Tuesday.
Christine Tenchka, 34, who is single, was arrested by members of Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal’s Special Victims Unit and Garfield police on Monday, Grewal said.
She was released pending a Nov. 13 first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
