GARFIELD, N.J. -- Fire tore through a Garfield house Tuesday night, displacing eight people.
City firefighters were joined at the three-alarm Cedar Street blaze by colleagues from Elmwood Park, Saddle Brook, Paramus, Rochelle Park and Wallington.
No injuries were immediately reported.
The fire broke out around 8:30 p.m. and shot up the walls of the 2½-story, wood-frame house, responders said.
Flames eventually blew through the roof.
