GARFIELD, N.J. -- A fugitive wanted on robbery charges in the Bronx broke the glass and was about to jump from a Garfield apartment window Thursday afternoon when members of the city Police Emergency Service Unit grabbed him, authorities told Daily Voice.
An NYPD warrant squad searching for 34-year-old Christopher Martinez zeroed in on his girlfriend's second-floor Wessington Avenue apartment.
Members of the ESU -- in combat gear and carrying rifles -- closed off the street and connecting thoroughfares, witnesses told Daily Voice.
They moved in around 3:15 p.m. and quickly took Martinez into custody.
