'Explosion' Clears County Park In Garfield

GARFIELD, N.J. -- What someone said was "some type of explosion" Friday cleared Belmont Hill Park in Garfield, responders said.

"We received a report at 3:06 p.m. of an explosion that occurred in the woods behind Belmont Hill County Park," Capt. Darren Sucorowski said.

The county park was evacuated and Bergen County Sheriff's K-9s swept it, Sucorowski said.

Nothing was found and no one was injured, he said.
