Maria Grazia Pagano, 90, Lodi Resident

LODI, N.J. — Lodi resident Maria Grazia Pagano (Chiurdo) died Monday, May 30. She was 90.

A native of Italy, Pagano emigrated to the United States in 1973, living in Lodi the past 43 years. 

In Italy, she was an embroiderer and teacher of the craft, and in the United States, she was a machine operator for Rain Craft in Garfield and T & S Apparel in Passaic for 17 years, before retiring in 1990. 

She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. — Passaic Local 158 and the Amalgamated Textile Workers Union, a parishioner of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, in Lodi, a member of the St. Anthony Society Women’s Auxiliary, in Garfield for 37 years, and a charter member of the St. Joseph’s Society in Lodi. 

Pagano is survived by her son, Giuseppe Antonio and his wife Patrizia; grandson, Calogero and his wife Christina; grandson, Antonio and his girlfriend Enza; great-grandchild, Gianna Sofia; sister, Angelina Chiurdo Cutrona and her husband Luigi; and sister, Maria Chiurdo Dolce and her husband Antonino.

Pagano was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Calogero; parents, Antonio and Giancomina Chiurdo; and brother, Mario "Pino" Chiurdo.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for the St. Joseph R.C. Church 100th Anniversary Fund.
