Two people were hospitalized in a Fair Lawn crash Thursday morning, Oct. 10, police said. The vehicles collided on the 300 block of Saddle River Road, propelling both vehicles off the roadway, incident photographer Boyd A. Loving said. An emotionally disturbed woman who told Fair Lawn police that a child was inside her burning car won't be criminally charged, authorities said. Officers were looking for an erratically-driven Dodge Neon when they spotted it speeding down a resident's driveway into a heavily wooded area off Saddle River Road around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Funeral Service Scheduled For William Hennecke, 32, Of Fair Lawn
A funeral service is scheduled this week for 32-year-old Fair Lawn native William "Billy" Hennecke. Hennecke was graduated from Fair Lawn High School and Bergen County Tech, where he studied carpentry, his obituary says. He went on to work as an irrigation technician for Garden State Irrigation and Lighting. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing in local lakes and rivers and riding dirt bikes with family and friends. Hennecke, who died in a tragic Thanksgiving Day accident, is survived by his parents Hans and Eileen. He also leaves his sisters, Maureen Flax and her husb…

A 32-year-old driver from Fair Lawn was killed when his car struck a utility pole on Route 208 early Thanksgiving evening. Pig Succumbs To Injuries From Fair Lawn Fire
A pig had to be euthanized following a pen fire in Fair Lawn, authorities said. A neighbor doused the flames that broke out behind a Saddle River Road home around 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The Bergen County SPCA arranged for Van Saun Park Zoo personnel to take the pig to the Westwood Regional Veterinary Hospital, he said. Fair Lawn Crash Sends Driver To Hospital
A motorist was hospitalized following a collision at a busy Fair Lawn intersection. The crash at Fair Lawn Avenue and Saddle River Road early Thursday afternoon sent one driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. The other driver refused medical attention. Both the Jeep and Hyundai sedan involved in the crash had to be removed by a flatbed tow truck.
