“This is a major security breach, no question,” NYPD Lt. Francisco Plasencia told CLIFFVIEW PILOT after discovering news of the trespasser. “Just imagine this guy wasn’t a disturbed man, but someone else with different intentions.”

Officials ordered security bolstered at the WTC, where Port Authority Police officers are now patrolling the platforms, after police arrested Reymundo Rodriguez, 20, of Bayonne, overnight Sunday.

The New York Post claims Rodriguez told someone he left a bomb somewhere along the two-mile route. But he was charged only with criminal trespassing and released on a summons following a psychological evauation.

A 9:50 a.m. message Monday to the Port Authority hasn’t yet been returned.

CVP also has learned that investigators from The National Transportation Safety Board reviewed video of Sunday’s crash, which injured 42 people (SEE: Train sped up, brakes applied late, prior to Hoboken PATH crash).
