YOU READ IT HERE FIRST (w/VIDEO): Law enforcement sources with direct knowledge of the investigation told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning that NYPD homicide detectives, working with Fort Lee police, are exploring an ID theft ring’s relationship to a 24-year-old Fort Lee man whose body was found in the trunk of his car on a Bronx street after he was strangled.
“The latest information being developed is that he may have stiffed someone,” a police source said.

The information follows the NYPD’s release of surveillance video of a person wanted in connection with the death of 24-year-old Jordan Johnson, whose body was found hours after his girlfriend reported him kidnapped.
Timestamped at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, the video shows the person in a blue, fur-lined hooded jacket, gray jeans and dark-colored sneakers holding something and looking back while walking away from Johnson’s 2013 BMW X550 Gran Turismo on East 211 Street and Tryon Avenue.
CLIFFVIEW PILOT was the first to report Thursday afternoon that NYPD officers found Jordan’s fully-clothed body a short time earlier after a license plate reader registered a hit on the missing vehicle.
The New York City Medical Examiner, which was conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of death, hadn’t yet released its findings.
Fort Lee police had issued an alert for Johnson and the car after he vanished and his girlfriend found their 12th-floor high-rise apartment at the Carriage House on 15th Street ransacked.
A large amount of cash and jewelry were missing, police said.
The girlfriend, Megan Faulkner, told them Johnson failed to show up earlier for a rendezvous in Harlem. READ MORE….
