YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A fight over illegal parking in an Englewood housing comple led to the arrest of a Fort Lee man who, police said, threatened management employees while damaging the outside of their office.

Gregg Michael Weiner, 35, was visiting a friend in Rock Creek Terrace when  he allegedly parked in a prohibited area.

“The management placed one of those parking violation notification stickers on Weiner’s car window and he took exception to that,” Detective Capt. Tim Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Weiner went to the management office there, damaged the side of the building and threatened two female employees, Torell said. After they called police, an arrest warrant was obtained.

“Rock Creek has been the source of a lot of criminal activity in the past, including several drive-by shootings, assaults and drug trafficking complaints,” Torell noted.

“There’s a lot of really good people who live in that complex,” he said. “The management there is working with us in trying to eliminate the criminal element, which many times comes from outside the complex — as evidenced by this case.”

Weiner was being held on $66,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with making terroristic threats and criminal mischief, along with marijuana possession with the intent to distribute the drug, drug possession with intent within 500 feet of public housing, 500 feet of a public park and 1,000 feet of a school, possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Englewood Detective Desmond Singh and Patrolman Timothy Reilly arrested Weiner after spotting him sitting in his parked car in Rock Creek late last week. They found him carrying marijuana, Oxycontin and Alprazolam (Xanax), as well as a baseball bat that clearly wasn’t intended for sport, Torell said.

They also alerted Fort Lee police, who found additional pot, Oxycodine, Valium, Xanax and drug paraphernalia in his Linwood Avenue apartment, the captain said.
