Two Jeeps Cherokees were headed toward one another when the driver over a gray 1999 model turned left and struck a silver 2015 model around 7:45 a.m., Capt. Scott Tamagny said.

The 2015 Jeep got knocked into a parked car and rolled onto the driver's side, he said. The driver of the 2015 Jeep -- identified as former LHS student Marc Helewa, 19, of Edgewater -- apparently had been smoking marijuana earlier and was charged with DWI and being under the influence of drugs, Tamagny said.

Heleway had two passengers with him -- both current LHS students -- including 18-year-old Luke Rambharose, who was also arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, the captain said.

The driver of the 1999 Jeep, a student at the high school, wasn't charged, he said.

Responders included Leonia police and firefighters and an EMS unit from Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
