"Opportunity isn’t going to come when you’re ready. It’s going to come, but you won’t be ready. You have to go and take it," Baignosche said.

Baignosche has always wanted to achieve more with his life. In the past, he's set goals such as getting in physical shape or reading books from classic literature.

KTB Coffee Shop was born out of challenging himself to start a business. The venture took a lot of financial investment and risk, but Baignosche said he can't let his life be run by worries of things going wrong.

"We have to strike when the iron is hot," Baignosche said.

He recalled one point in his life where things didn't go right and ended up living in a single apartment by himself with only boxes for furniture.

"A lot of people have that fear, I don't have it," Baignosche said. "I've lost everything a few times, I'm not afraid to lose it again. I can start over. I'm a strong person."

He's confident that KTB Coffee Shop will work out, citing North Arlington's lack of coffee lounges.

"There's nothing like a coffee shop or a Starbucks in this area," Baignosche said. "They're dying for it."

Baignosche used pieces of his own life to make KTB have a homey feel.

For example, the items found on the shelves are family heirlooms found in Baignosche's aunt's attic. Even the shop's countertops were constructed from the doors of their old house.

"It's not random stuff," Baignosche said. "Everything was a dedication to our family and marriage."

KTB Coffee Shop offers a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, snacks and food. Their full menu can be found on their website

The shop is located at 323 Ridge Road in North Arlington, N.J.
