FORT LEE, N.J.– A Fort Lee non-profit received a $4,900 grant from Bergen County's Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.
The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera was one of 33 Bergen non-profit arts groups that divided a total of $86,000 in grants.
Verismo Opera's Treasurer Giovanni Simone was on hand at the 2016 Bergen County Arts Awards Ceremony in Hackensack to receive the award from Cultural and Historic Affairs Director Cynthia Foster.
Non-profits that presented arts programming to the public for at least two years were eligible.
Last year, Verismo Opera's Artistic Director Lucine Amara received the first Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs' first Artistic Excellence Award.
