FORT LEE, N.J. — Cyclebar in Fort Lee's Hudson Lights is striving for a personal connection with riders.

"We are fueling energetic communal experiences by providing a hub for an ever growing community," Owner Marisa Kochnover said.

The company recently launched in Wyckoff and plans on expanding to Closter and Hoboken by January.

The cycling studio combines the usual workout experience with a concert atmosphere by using dramatic LED lighting and a specially curated Spotify playlist known as "CycleBeats."

Beyond the atmosphere, the rides go outside the box for what a cycling workout can accomplish.

The ride called "Connect," for example, allows riders to tune into their inner calm, officials explained.

The facility's lighting and CycleBeats adapt to with each person's type of ride. Cyclebar calls "Connect," a mix between cycling and yoga.

Other types of rides allow for stat-tracking and competition between members. For example, two riders can see each others stats and compete for the most distance traveled or calories burned.

Not every day is the same at the cycling-focused gym. Each location utilizes themes throughout the week to change up the pace.

For example, Fort Lee's "Happy Hour" theme integrates with the local community by providing draft beers from Hackensack-based Alementary.

Riders can relish their workout accomplishments with a congratulatory beer. Each Cyclebar is franchise owned. The owners are considered ambassadors to their community for how to integrate into local neighborhoods.

"This really demonstrates CycleBar's enthusiasm for giving back, creating awareness, bringing strength, and spreading hope," Owner Abbey Braverman said.
