Billionaire Jeff Bezos is planning to unload millions of Amazon shares, which could be worth about $5 billion.
Bezos will sell up to 25 million Amazon shares, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday, May 2. The sales are expected to be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.
The shares could be worth up to $5 billion, depending on their value when sold. The tech giant's stock opened at $191.90 per share on May 2, down about 21% from its record high in early February.

Unemployment Claims Surge, GDP Shrinks As Recession Fears Rise Under Trump
Unemployment claims unexpectedly rose as the US economy shrank amid President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs, further escalating concerns of a coming recession.
Initial unemployment claims jumped to 241,000 for the week ending Monday, April 26, according to Department of Labor data released on Thursday, May 1. That's the largest weekly number since February and 18,000 more than the prior week.
The surge pushed the four-week moving average to 226,000 first unemployment claims. The 241,000 claims were also well above the Dow Jones estimate of 225,000, CNBC reported.

Trump Now Says There Will Be 'No Exceptions' On Tariffs For iPhones, Other Chinese Electronics
Not so fast.
Just days after new guidance was released by the government stated that machines used to make semiconductors, flat-screen TVs, tablets, and desktop computers are excluded from President Trump’s 125 percent tariff on Chinese goods, the administration is now saying those exemptions are only temporary.
In a social media post on Truth Social on Sunday, April 13, Trump said there are “no exceptions,” and tariffs will apply to those items, apparently clarifying the US Customs and Border Protection bulletin issued Friday, April 11.
