Glen Rock Realtor Goes For Gold

GLEN ROCK, N.J. — Not a year has passed since 1996 that Glen Rock real estate agent Patricia Kafafian Zengel hasn't earned a New Jersey Realtor Circle of Excellence Award.

In her 22 years of practice, 2015 will be the first year that the Wyckoff Re/Max HomeTowne Realty agent has earned the Gold Award.

"I'll probably die selling homes," joked Zengel, who became a licensed New Jersey Realtor in 1994.

The 2015 award levels are:

  • Platinum: $20 million and 30 units minimum, or 125 units
  • Gold: $12 million and 25 units minimum, or 90 units
  • Silver: $6.5 million and 20 units minimum, or 70 units
  • Bronze: $2.5 million and 15 units minimum, or 30 units

“People don’t realize how much real estate agents do until they get to know you," said Zengel, who works with her daughter, Renee Zengel Frey. "A client can call at any time and if you don't show them a house, they'll find someone else."

Zengel, who worked for an attorney before becoming licensed, said the best part about the job is fostering relationships with clients.

"I couldn't believe how many stopped by my house on Christmas," she said. "It made me more motivated to keep working."
