GLEN ROCK, N.J. — A 2015 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a Glen Rock man's driveway on Tuesday, Nov. 7, police said.
The Yardley Court resident's vehicle was parked in his driveway with the doors unlocked and the key in the center console, Chief Dean Ackermann said.
The vehicle was recovered by the Newark Police Department just after 6 p.m., with further investigation pending, Achermann said.
"This is the second vehicle stolen from Glen Rock under similar circumstances over a one week period," the chief said.
"Glen Rock as well as the surrounding towns have again been experiencing a rash of stolen vehicles overnight from driveways.
"All vehicles that are being stolen have the key fobs left inside making it extremely easy for thieves to steal them.
Police urged residents to remove your keys or key fobs from your vehicles and lock the doors.
