Phillip Carry was arrested after a State Police detective posed as the girl following a request by Belleville police to the NJSP Digital Technology Investigations Unit.

“Carry, knowing the victim’s age, continued to send sexually explicit messages and attempted to arrange a meeting for the purpose of having a sexual encounter,” State Police said.

He was taken into custody Friday by members of the unit and detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Belleville and Fair Lawn police.

“Several pieces of digital evidence were seized,” the NJSP said.

They added: “Anyone with information regarding another juvenile who may have been in contact with Philip Carry, please contact the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit at (609) 584-5000.”
