FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Robert John Abate, of Fair Lawn, died on Thursday, Jan. 19. He was 72.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1944.
Abate is survived by his wife Sheila (Williams) Abate; daughter Susanne of Wilmington, Delaware; brother Paul and his wife Carolyn; sister-in-law Sondra Reduce; and cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Sylvia (Mainardi) Abate, and his brother-in-law Allan Reduce.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, by Father Jeremiah McGinley at the Church of Saint Anne, 15-05 St. Anne St., in Fair Lawn. Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, in Fair Lawn, is assisting with arrangements.
