Josephine Quartarone, 91, Fair Lawn Resident

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Josephine (Svolto) Quartarone, of Fair Lawn, died on Monday, Dec. 07. She was 91. 

Born and raised in Garfield, she resided in Elmwood Park for 40 years before moving to Fair Lawn over 19 years ago. A faithful parishioner of St. Anne Roman Catholic Church for the past 59 years, Quartarone was a long-time member of the Rosary Society and enjoyed teaching line dancing at St. Anne’s for over 15 years. 

Quartarone had a life-long love for dancing, baking and will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, faith and helping those in need. 

Quartarone is predeceased by her husband John Quartarone. 

She is survived by her children Don Quartarone and wife Jean and JoAnn Vaughan and husband Doug; grandchildren Sarah Vaughan, Mike Quartarone and wife Jenn and Donna Brady and husband Blane; and great grandchildren Amber, Nic, Bella, Elianna, Giovanna, Tyson and Jordan. 

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, Dec. 11 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home in Fair Lawn.

A funeral mass is planned for Saturday, Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anne Roman Catholic Church. 

Entombment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Lodi. 

Donations in memory of Josephine may be made to St. Anne Roman Catholic Church.
