Frank G. Protopapas, 66, Former Fair Lawn Resident

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Former Fair Lawn resident Frank G. Protopapas died on Saturday, Dec. 12. He was 66.  

Protopapas was born April 9, 1949 in Karpathos, Greece prior to coming to the United States in 1967. He resided in Fair Lawn and Butler prior to settling in Tuxedo Park, N.Y. 

He was the owner/operator of Proto Food Services for 30 years until he retired in November 2014. He loved spending time with his four grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to attend a soccer game, a ballet recital or a school event. 

Protopapas is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marigo; his son George and his wife Sofia; his daughter Evelyn and her husband Themistoklis Nissirios; and his grandchildren Gianni, Mariella, Frank and Tiffany. He is also survived by his brothers Emmanuel and Andreas, and his mother Kalliope. 

Interment took place on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
