FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A Fair Lawn pet rescue volunteer says he's the reason one Jack Russel Terrier mix didn't make it to its fourth foster home.
Nick Mihail was passing through Georgia with Steve Quilliam's Grateful Doggies Transport when he says Panda stole his heart.
The black-and-white pup had been returned from all three of its fosters and was about to be in its fourth, somewhere in South Jersey.
"She stole my heart," said Mihail, a longtime volunteer with Grateful Doggies.
"I was on the other bus but when I would show up in the mornings she would start shaking and whimpering with excitement. I fell for it."
Quilliam dubbed Mihail "Panda" a long time ago, so that's the name he chose to give his new dog, who he says fits perfectly in his pack.
