FAIR LAWN, N.J. – A Fair Lawn High School graduate and her husband who moved to Texas to open a restaurant “lost everything they have to Hurricane Harvey,” according to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for the couple.
“Right now they need our help,” states the page that had garnered nearly $16,000 in donations by Wednesday evening.
The couple, Maria and Joe Macri, left New Jersey and followed their dream to open a restaurant near Houston, states the page, created by Joana Gagis, Maria’s sister.
“When the water recedes, they will need housing and a safe place for their 4 dogs and 3 cats to live,” she wrote.
