The incident happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, but wasn’t reported until about 30 minutes later, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
The teen told officers they were playing spike ball with friends near the football field when a group of younger teens approached them. Words were exchanged between the two groups, following which one of the younger teens drew an airsoft pellet gun from their waistband and began shooting airsoft pellets at the complainant and their friend who then ran off, Ackermann said.
The complainant said they did not know the names of the younger teens and would not identify the friends they were with. The suspects were described only as riding e-bikes and wearing full helmets.
Officers searched the area but found no one near the school. The Detective Bureau is conferring with school security to review video surveillance images of individuals who may have been in the area at the time, Ackermann said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call the Glen Rock Detective Bureau at (201) 670-3947 or (201) 670-3948.
