FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Fair Lawn's Old Library Theatre's Reader Theatre will present "Shlemiel Crooks!" on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17. The production is the theater's third annual original musical.
"A boy and his dog stop the ghost of Pharaoh from ruining Passover in this whimsical, warm-hearted family musical based on the children's books 'Shlemiel Crooks' and 'Chicken Bone Man,' by award-winning author Anna Olswanger," organizers note.
"Narrated by Jerry, the family dog, and featuring a couple of dimwitted crooks named Burt and Ernie, this hilarious new musical is about the importance of family loyalty and the need to follow your dreams."
Admission is $10 for all seats. You can buy tickets online, here. The Saturday performance will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday one will be at 2 p.m.
