GLEN ROCK, N.J.– The Thielke Arboretum is bringing back its nature journaling program for elementary-school kids, for the fourth year.
Session 1 is for kids entering K-2. It will meet Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 29-30, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. The cost is $40 and includes materials. Session 2 is for rising third- through fifth-graders. It will be immediately following, on Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. It costs $60, including materials.
The classes will be led by Lucille Malka and Diane Schlegelormer, former teachers and current Arboretum docents, who are also trained nature journalists.
You can register for the workshops here. Registration is limited to 12 for each session, so each participant can receive individualized attention, so early registration is advised.
The workshops are rain or shine, so dress with that in mind. Also, use sunscreen and bring a hat, water bottle, insect repellent and sunglasses.
The Thielke Arboretum is located at 460 Doremus Ave., in Glen Rock. For more information, call 201-893-1664.
