There were over 20 exhibitors in attendance, as well.

"Everyone is here to promote sustainability," Councilwoman Lisa Swain said. "Sustainability is keeping your community alive and thriving by recycling, composting [and] not polluting."

Borough employee Ron Lotterman promoted Fair Lawn's Litter Marshal program.

"It's a way for residents to anonymously report people who are littering," he said.

Letterman and Josh Keller, representing the Fair Lawn Recycling Division, also gave out reusable water bottles as way to curb the use of plastic bottles.

The Lyncrest Elementary School Environmental Team had its own table, where it encouraged attendees to "say no to plastic."

"Plastic bags are hurting our environment and we should start using reusable bags," a student named Ryan said.

Dana McLaughlin, ShopRite of Fair Lawn's registered dietician, was there to discuss healthy eating habits.

"We're focusing on ways to incorporate more fruits and veggies into your diet," she said.

The event was presented by the Fair Lawn Green Team and Environmental Commission and attended by Daily Voice's own Community Advisor Wayne Robbins

"Each year the Green Fair has gotten bigger," Swain said. "One resident said to me, 'I didn't realize how easy it is to start composting'".
