GLEN ROCK, N.J.– Using vibro-acoustic sound healing to treat her alcoholism is what Glen Rock businesswoman Fran Langschultz said inspired her to use technology in treating female veterans battling post-traumatic stress disorder.
After experiencing the treatment herself, Langschultz of Old Tappan, decided “everyone should try this” and opened up her Rock Road business: BioRhythm Healing Spa.
“Low frequencies are applied in the music,” said Langschultz, who offers free services to veterans without benefits. “It puts you in a meditative state of theta.”
Langschultz organized a Pathways for Veterans fundraiser, which will be attended by its Chief Executive Officer Gary Ferguson, who fought in the Vietnam War, at the Glen Rock Inn on Friday.
Her upstairs studio features a lounge with two reclining beds – equipped with monitors – where clients relax and listen to soothing music through bone construction headphones.
“We know the frequencies can change DNA,” said the owner, who believes she could be the only non-medical facility or institution in the United States using acoustic sound healing. “You are changing your cells and DNA.”
Langschultz has partnered up with Pathways for Veterans – and became regional director – to build more of the beds for servicemen and women.
Together, Pathway for Veterans and BioRhythm Healing Spa are helping veterans with other services, such as securing jobs, entering 12-step programs, and other forms of treatment, Langschultz said.
Having mobile bone construction headphones for veterans is the next step, she said. Langschutlz is hoping to open an East Coast Pathway for Veterans research center.
